Why the sudden spike in purposefully moronic troll posts re the Leafs? Is it a blue moon or something neutral

Tf? Why is this moronic... Do you think the cost for Kane is more than that?

Wait you were serious? My bad… I think the cost for Kane (or any top pending FA on the block) is about half of that; 1st + prospect.
Every trade offer for him from every team will require retention; prefer we keep Kerfoot (don’t see why we need to move him anyway), but ZERO chance we have to add a 2nd to move him

To add, they will all require 50% retention by Chicago + cap coming back from the other team or a 60-75% retention done by Chicago and another team. An expiring UFA who is useful to the team trading him with a moderate cap hit is definitely not going to require an asset.

Its just redundant getting him and paying up all those assets. It means Nylander gets less opportunities and takes away from him. Rather get a bunch of depth to compliment the big 4.

Bye bye Kane. Time to sign up for a Tim Horton's rewards card.

In the event that Kane actually wants to go to a contender, the Blackhawks will not be able to demand extra compensation for retention. Retention will just be a given because no team will be able to take him without it. They have no bargaining power without it because barely anyone can take him on at full price.

I don't even want Kane, Meier would be much more preferable for even if we treat him as a UFA because of his QO.

Unless there is a bidding war, that is too much. But, no take backs. CHI accepts.

Gross overpay

I don’t think it’s gross. I think it’s a very beautiful overpay.
