If severson was for sale id be all over making something work for that, he's exactly what the oilers need

I doubt you'd need more than Holtz+1st for Meier

If Devils moved Severson, it would probably be in a hockey trade if they could pull one off mid-season. If it’s just futures, than we’d probably need a suitable replacement option ready. We could piece together a platoon of 3RD….we have Nemec in AHL (9 game max), Luke Hughes and Shakir Mukhamadullin arriving mid-season, Reilly Walsh ready to go.

Meier trade is no-go without a contract extension. And since Sharks aren’t letting other teams talk to him, it’s hard to imagine he would get moved at all (unless it’s for a big discount).

If that happens, it would come after season and after draft, when we could talk to him about extension. So it would be a 2024 pick.

I think Edmonton would push for Graves the need is on the left side. Understandable at this point Devils are doing too good to move him so doubting a deal is there.

They could always give him permission to discuss with us

Mike Grier said he won't let other teams talk to Meier before he has had negotiations with him...and his negotiations won't be during the season.

I think that can't happen. If they move him abd Marino or Hamilton get hurt in or near playoffs it would ruin any chance of a decent run.
