Barbashev is the perfect TDL add. Shouldn't cost too much. Maybe Abruzzese, another pick like a 3rd, and possibly a drop more. He has size, scored 60 points last year (most of it at ES), and is a pending UFA. Good bottom 6 add, and shouldn't break the bank. I think its too much for JVR, who I also think would be a good add.

because at this point abbruzzese is at best a maybe to ever play his way to another chance in the NHL, and Barbashev is a luxury 3C that will cost considerably more

Abruzzese is almost certainly of no interest. Hell, an early 3rd has more value to the Blues than he does. This doesn't get you Barby.
