I doubt you’re getting a 2nd for a 4th line C

I think we could, he's a smart player with good skating and a great penalty killer

He’s also paid too much for a 4th line C. Not a smart move to commit term to depth/role players.

Avs decline.

The only reason I'd value him at a 2nd is because it would take more than a "fair" offer for us to depart with him.
He's more valuable to us than in trade. The best 4th C rarely see that kind of return.

yeah i kinda see where you go with the asking price, but giving the past between lehky and Evans few Avs fans should look how their PK and last minute crew on ice could gain from that 4th line c ... Kinda piss by the «he's paid to much» ...

Personally wouldn't want Evans if I was the Avs.
Lehkonen has been more productive there and you don't want to change that by tempting a reversion to a defensive line.

Can you imagine Evans with the avs ... PK unit Lehk Evans girard ... Avs has an average Pk unit but with Compher and Evans their top 6 c could gain time at PP and EV to gain momentum. It's a little twitch but somehow a gain.

It depends on the roster. The Avs are going to be paying their 1C $12.6M. That’s a lot. They’re going to need to pinch pennies everywhere they can. And the easiest place to save dollars is on the 4th line. You can have Evans for $1.7M or you can have like, two separate 4th liners for that price and spend the cap savings higher up in the lineup.
