No team would give up anything close to that package for Meier. That’s an insane amount of value for the Oreds to give up. Also, we suck and Meier wouldn’t fix the structural issues with this team that have put us in mediocrity for so long. NSH decline

Levi is basically untouchable for the Sabres
We aren’t gonna move our top goalie prospect when we’re still trying to find a solution in net- just doesn’t make sense

Besides putting in a different piece for Levi,
would Hertl waive his NMC to come to Buffalo?
Idk about that

Also, assuming he would waive,
idk that the Sabres are ready to make the kind of commitment to Hertl that his contract demands
Nothing against Hertl special- he’s a really good player

But i wonder if we’d be looking to bring in ANYONE who has 7years left on his contract without having any idea really how he’d actually fit in here

I suppose it’s possible if u sub in a different goalie prospect for Levi- Portillo for example- but it’s far from a sure thing

My guess would be that Hertl’s contract scares us away from him, but it’s just my guess

How's his knees, can't see Buffalo doing this trade. I don't think Levi is untouchable, but not for this package. It would have to blow Adams away and this isn't it.

Buffalo is set at 1 and 2 C and hertl is older and expensive and that's too many assets

Hard to say. He’s got a 6m cap hit, and to retain any salary it would cost even more.

He’s 25, and a pending RFA. His price will be HEFTY. at this point, i doubt SJS even moves him
