Yeah if Toronto is getting both it's not going to be without Knies. Two top six forwards, one of whom is a center, both with cup experience, that's just the cost of doing business.

But I don't really think Toronto will want both and I think the Blues would prefer to deal them separately.

but no, Knies should be valuable to this team for a long time. Especially when he's poised to be a good ELC option as early as this year. Not a knock on those two players, but two rentals for our best prospect + good utility forward + decent prospect + clearing out our picks isn't worth two 30+ rentals

regardless of whether or not this price is fair Toronto just can't.

AS a blues fan I don't think Tor is trading Knies for rentals

imo, I think they should go after Tarasenko over O'Rielly. 58-34-16 and then 91(?)-91-88 would be nasty

I know, and I highly doubt they would. I just want him pretty badly. Especially with him and snuggy working so well in college. Would be a good start for us to restructure a bit

I can't see Toronto trading Knies for a rental. Only way he's be involved is if STL is looking to move Buch and Knies is part of the package

Knies is going to disappoint so many people, one downfall with taking everything in the media as gospel it's a lot of hype trying to create conversations.

Not one person has said it but Knies outright said "I want to go play my final year at college" instead of joining the pro team, that's a massive red flag.

I don't care about the college culture, or some accolades or something, bro you have a spot in the show and your like meh maybe or maybe no, ok let's see what this kind of mentality is like when he joins the team lol I wouldn't be too big on a guy that's never played in the NHL being a big factor in bring a cup to the Leafs, like get real.

I said trade him in preseason when he said he'd rather play college one more year.

Yeah I think STL can get more in 2 seperate deals

It's a massive red flag to want to complete your education and have a back up plan in case hockey doesn't work? I'd call that being pretty mature.

He's one massive injury in an injury plagued sport away from not going the distance with a long career.

Really depends on what they are expecting, if it's just a top 6 player, then they probably won't be although of course there is the possibility he doesn't turn out like any prospect. If there are those expecting him to be more than the 5th guy in the top 6 (while Tavares is still playing at a high level), then yes they will likely be disappointed.

As for Knies, not signing right away, that's not necessary a red flag. Sure, he said he wasn't done with the college stuff but maybe his major concern was actually that he wouldn't have been of much help and that he wants to join the team being able to make some sort of impact. There is the possibility that he doesn't want to play for the Leafs but what/who were they going to trade him for at the beginning of the season?

Two shrimps and a drifter for two hall of famers??? I know Knies gets a lot of fanfare, but he's got a ways to go to play NHL minutes. Meh.
