Solid trade for both sides. I might even do it without the 2nd, but I suppose that’s there to compensate for paying Smith.

I'd rather keep Kubalík if the picks are in '24 and '25. If both of them were in '23 I'd consider it but only if Fabbri plays well when returning and Bert is extended.

But think of the possibilities with the 1st round pick! You might even get a scoring winger like Dominik Kubalik

Jokes aside, the 2024 pick would be banking on Bergeron, Krecji, etc either finally retiring, or finally dropping off a cliff in production. I'd do it if it was a 2024 or 2025 pick, Detroit's choice. In any case, trading a top 9 scoring winger for a 1stwould be tidy business, but if the 1st is later, a lot of time you are kind of hoping you get an NHLer there, and just hope that your scouts have just the right superstar picked, but that's not the most likely scenario.

I agree with this, no thanks on those picks. I would personally only be trading these core guys like Kubalik, Bertuzzi, Vrana for prospects or 2023 picks, anything later just doesn't make sense for where the team is.

Hell No Smith sucks and is 33 years old, The picks are 2 and 3 drafts away. If Yzerman were to move Kubs it's for a 2023 1st not a 2024 1st.

I guess but I think kubalik isn't high on our list off forwards who might move.

Don't want smith without a sweetener. If kuby keeps up his pace he will be worth a 1st + + at the tdl. 30 goal scorer for 2.5 m with another year on his contract. Definitely pass as is. 23 1st and lysell.
