Would love to take Bratt out, but I feel like he’s be a non negotiable in a move for Tkachuk. Doubt they do it for just a middle pair NHLer that can help immediately and a blue chip.

If we could just bioengineer a super-player with Graves size, Bratt’s skating and playmaking ability and Holtz’s shot….we could save those picks.

Panthers decline. They would need nemec or hughes coming back if they’re trading their best forward this year

Then Bratt gets taken out for probably Nemec. I don’t know why a team without their first rounders would want all futures though

I can't see a team like Jersey wanting to give up so much for Tkachuk.

Not sure what you mean by that tbh.
I personally can’t see it because our GM hasn’t made a move this big in his tenure, sticking to smaller scale moves that have big impact (like Siegenthaler and Marino)

Jersey is doing well and has chemistry. I'm just no sure that Tkachuk adds good chemistry to a team. Like many trades, folks seem to like the "addition" (in this case Tkachuk) but seem to ignore the immediate "subtraction" of Bratt, Graves, and t futures cheap ELCs in Holitz and the two first rounders

Oh yea I agree with you there then.
Bratt has been almost indispensable during this year’s run, and the value of ELCs is just going to be higher and higher to this team as they get better and better (with others coming off their ELCs)

If they’re trading tkachuk which will never happen but hypothetically they’d want to fix their horrible defense cause the offense has some okay prospects plus who’s on the team now

The issue I ran into was trying to not impact the Panthers cap hit too significantly with Duclair slated to come back. Severson was my first thought, since he’s much better than Graves, but I didn’t think that money would work to allow Duclair to be reactivated

I’m pretty sure hornqvist isn’t coming back this year so the money shouldn’t be an issue for him

Yea I think Hornqvist is done for the year, or at least a post TDL problem for FLA. But this deal+Duclair would only leave FLA with a few hundred thousand in cap I think. So Sevo would’ve been too much on the cap to add Duclair back with the extra million he makes compared to Graves

I’m just happy it isn’t another Meier deal I had to think up tbh.
