NJ declines. They don't need Debrincat. Holtz will be fine - they need a big powerforward in their top six.

value is good but just not what the Sens would look for if the have to move him. plus, if he's only costing 8.5, they'd just make the space to keep him

I’m okay with moving him for a top 4 RD and a good forward prospect tbh.

Not Walsh. But if Severson extended or Marino was in the deal then yes

I did a DeBrincat trade for Marino, Foote, 1st

Problem with projecting a Severson (extended) trade is that it is fairly unlikely.
He probably hits the UFA market this summer anyway.
So his rights after the season are probably only worth mid pick.

I don’t think Foote will ever be more than a 4th liner and Marino is probably a #4 for me. I don’t see that as enough. Need a top 4D and a prospect with at least 2nd line potential

If Ottawa trades Debrincat , they won’t want any long distance futures including 1st round pick . My guess is they’d want something similar to the Matt Tkachuk trade. Players that can step in right now . That’s why I think Severson is a fit , but by himself even with a contract he’s not worth Cat. Need someone that can step in the middle 6 to replace Cat as well , not his offensive output but just position wise

Marino = top-4 dman
1st round pick = the 2nd liner.
Foote was there to pay for an extra dman going back to NJ.

If it was Severson rights + 1st, not sure who else would fit there for forward piece as it would likely have to be more bankable than Holtz.
If it was Marino + 1st, it would probably be less than Holtz.

That’s too much money . 8.5-9 for Cat going out and too much coming in. Plus Boeser likely isn’t a good fit. Batherson already struggles defensively.
