Description

While the Devils have had a fantastic year, I think Fitz is smart enough to realize the best is yet to come and avoid forcing big moves at the deadline. This isn’t 17/18 where the Devils needed to add just to make the playoffs. They look good enough to comfortably make it in and while I think they add, I don’t seem them making any significant moves until the off-season. Fitz bolsters the depth to our bottom 6 and adds another 7th D guy for the playoffs.

Florida place Marc Staal on waivers prior to trade so the Devils can stash him Utica until the playoffs begin.

I get the being patient part but not understanding why we trade for players who won't contribute to the lineup effectively. If I'm looking for a 7th d it would be someone like idk ......Schenn.

I concur.

Let this cast play out and see what develops.

A 7 game series is much different than the regular season.

And Schenn definitely is more than a #7 btw.

I disagree with this take.
I'd rather have guys like Johnsson, Zetterlund, Bahl, Okhotiuk and Walsh be next in line for spots on a playoff roster than Staal and White.

Perhaps our deadline will be simply own rentals...keeping Tatar, Severson, etc

Moves for White, Staal may not help enough to be worthwhile unless they are replacing someone else.
