The Schmidt trade would be in the offseason and it would be the best thing that could happen for our cap and possible signing of Severson.

Would honestly rather give you ANA's 3rd in 2023 for Stanley than take Schmidt. Ducks need another puck moving defenseman like we need a hole in the head.

We have two 2023 third-round picks already, so yours wouldn't tempt us to take Schmidt off your hands if he were an UFA. Since he's got two more seasons, it would take a first for us to be interested in him because we won't make the playoffs before his contract runs out.
