Asplund for Tyce could be an option in off-season. A solid defensive forward may be a good addition to our lineup. But this year, barring an injury, it’s hard to see how we add without putting someone on waivers.

But for 2023-24, count me in.

Since Habs don’t want Portillo, how about Tyce Thompson for him? I like Portillos upside and unlike these fellow habs fans, I believe you can never have too many good goalie prospects.

I think Buffalo would accept Tyce Thompson for Portillo. It doesn't look like he will be signing with Buffalo and I know the Sabres want to try and get something back for him.

I believe Portillo has made it known he will likely return to Michigan for one more year and enter pro hockey as a free agent. Maybe he signs with club that owns rights to 1/2 of his defensive corps. Interesting idea.

Ryan Johnson is in same boat, but is protected by a compensatory pick.
