If Edmonton was trading draisaitl they'd want a boatload of futures. They know if they downgraded from draisaitl to landeskog, McDavid would be quick to request a trade also.

Take far more than a concussed Byram Landeskog and a late 2023 1st round pick, Too get Leon Draisaitl out of Edmonton.

Byram is a huge talent and Landy will be fine once he is back from surgery. If his health were a concern Avs wouldn't have signed him to a 7x7. Edmonton won't win with Drai and Mcdavid in the line up. They can't sign another player. Landy and Byram when healthy fix some of the holes Edmonton definitely has. Landy fixes the leadership void and Byram will stablize their top D. Either way no way this trade would happen. I was just playing with a new 3 headed Monster line to make me happy.

Sure, but even when doing something for fun, if you're gonna publish it, it's gonna get critique when it's off.

Landy has missed at least 15 games in 3 of the past 4 seasons (16 in 19/20, 31 last year, 44 so far this year) and missed between 7 and 10 in 3 of the 4 prior to that. Whether you like to admit it or not, the guy is injury-prone and that's gonna factor in when considering him as a central piece in a trade for a superstar like Drai who, unlike Landy and Byram, barely misses any games. And, no matter how good Byram could be, the guy is more of a flight risk than a major asset now- at least in a major trade like this.

I'd do it. There's an added bonus of getting out from Landy's monster contract. The one thing is a likely playoff matchup, but hat would be a tremendous series!
