Trades
1.
CBJ
  1. Johansen, Ryan
Additional Details:
Both overpaid players on short-term contracts. Blue Jackets desperately need center depth. Just makes sense for both teams.
2.
NSH
  1. Meier, Timo [RFA Rights]
SJS
  1. Fabbro, Dante [RFA Rights]
  2. Tomasino, Philip
  3. 2023 1st round pick (NSH)
  4. 2024 4th round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Fabbro is desperately in need of a change of scenery, and Tomasino hasn't developed as well as Nashville had hoped by now. Replacing Tomasino with Kemell may be necessary to outbid competitors, but this is ultimately a fair price to pay.
3.
NSH
  1. Walsh, Reilly [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Jeannot, Tanner [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Jeannot just doesn't fit into the roster. We need a RD and Walsh is stuck behind Nemec, Hamilton, and Marino.

no that isn’t a “fair price to pay” that a dream price! 2 underachieving prospects and a mid round 1st for a 26 year old on pace for 45 goals.

Voracek’s career might be over with his concussion issue, honestly if his career is over I’d say Columbus would be better served using the 8 mil in another way then paying Johansen again.

A middle-pairing defenseman, a good forward prospect, and a 10-15 range first in a deep draft sounds good to me. I doubt we could get anything more for a guy in his late prime with a $10M QO.

Though I will admit, replacing Tomasino with Kemell does make a little more sense in hindsight.

Not sure at all where Jeannot would fit on the Devils roster honestly

He replaces Wood at a minimum. Very best case he replaces one of the other two ufa forwards. I like this idea, with zetturland getting a chance too it gives us a little heaviness that we desperately need. Nice job OP.

TImo has a very high price, especially with his QO. Fabbro, Tomasino and a first would be a fair pay for him. If Timo does move, this is a very close trade to what you'd get in return.

That being said, Preds will not be the team to do so. We'll keep our assets.

you argue that’s fair but if you had meier you would be throwing a fit over how undervalued that offer is. if that’s the best the sharks can get then i hope we keep him.
