VAN
  1. Lundeström, Isac
Additional Details:
Very interested in Lundestrom as a centre for the Canucks. Still a young guy and a really intriguing centre piece going forward. Adds to a lot of young swedes in Vancouver and would be a great piece behind Elias Pettersson and JT Miller in the future.
2.
VAN
  1. Boqvist, Jesper [RFA Rights]
  2. Foote, Nolan
Additional Details:
Did this trade earlier but with Brock Boeser instead. Garland adds speed and shiftiness to the Devils squad with a lower price tag. They are looking to add to their top 6 and the Canucks could be a good trade target if they don't pull off a Timo Meier deal.
3.
VAN
  1. Buium, Shai [Reserve List]
  2. Rasmussen, Michael
  3. Wallinder, William [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Detroit pays for certainty rather than gambling on both Larkin and Horvat in the off-season. Still keeps their core of young prospects intact with Kasper, Edvinsson, and Raymond

Detroit declines. Wallinder is looking more and more like top 4 material, possibly as soon as next year. Buium is still a project, but he has a higher upside. Rasmussen is cementing himself as a 40-50 point faceoff winning middle 6 plug.

No way Detroit makes that trade.

Anaheim also likes him as a young center, he is great on the third line with the right line mates (i.e. NOT Silfverberg) It's not likely we would trade him away to get an additional right wing, when we have Terry and Strome at 1 and 2.

I like this as a DET fan. Ras is playing great but he’s never going to be Horvat, wallinder looks like a stud but DET has many LHD that will be options going forward. Buium is also replaceable if we can keep Seider and Hronek.

I would normally agree, but why not just sign Horvat as a UFA? I don't like the 8.5 hit for a defensive (elite at that) 2C.

Wallinder could be top 4 as early as next year. He is showing to be very good and has made improvements in his game at a rapid pace. Kronwall had given him some advice and Wallinder seems to have taken it to heart.

Wallinder is currently outperforming what both Edvinsson and Johansson did in SHL. He is approching the level that Seider was when he played in the SHL.

If Wallinder is to be traded the value coming back should be the equivalent of 4 high 1st round picks.

Lol so confident that they wouldn’t take an absolute lowball offer for Horvat.

Canucks would want more and should get more. Rasmussen is a nice middle 6 player.

I think you’re extremely overrating Wallinder. You think he’s going to be a top 4 d man next year in the NHL as a 21 year old? Mighty high expectations

And Buium isn’t anything special either.

I personally believe a larkin- horvat top 2 would be absolutely worth the 18mm it would cost but that’s just me. Otherwise I do hope you’re right about wallinder.

That’s about what I was going to say

To add: I would like a Boeser add but only for a 3rd or 4th but not at the cost of a 3C for the future and at worst a 4C

If Wallinder is overrated and Buium is nothing special, and Rasmussen is middle 6 (this I agree) then why do you want these players? Keep in mind, Wallinder, if he makes the team, would be 3rd pairing behind Edvinsson/Johansen. I expect Wallinder to be in the AHL for 20 or so games. Or he makes the team and pairs with Seider if Walman doesn't come back. I might be a little too keen on Wallinder, but if he isn't top 4 this next season, he will be in 2025.

Buium is still a college kid. Raw but refining. He could be a gem or a bottom 4 or a bust. Too early to tell. Still a heck of a good prospect.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love the 1-2 of Larkin and Horvat. I just don't like the ask in the trade. Larkin is really only worth 7.5 to 8 on a contending team, and Horvat just slightly less. The really big problem though having both players locked up for 20% of your cap hit for 8 years. There's this guy Kasper who I picked many months before the draft...and I was really high on him...then early this season my expectations dropped...but he proved me wrong and is an absolute beast as a Junior in the SHL. Kasper WILL make the team out of camp. I'm starting to think he is another Seider draft story, except at C. If Setroit could get both Horvat and Larkin for 15 to 16 million, then OK. You now have a top line next year of Larkin-Kasper-Raymond, a second line of Horvat with Copp or Rasmussen and a scoring wing (Berggren), a 3rd line with either Ras or Copp and Perron/Bertuzzi/Kubalik/Veleno (or whoever they pick up). Suddenly the top 6 is very good and the top 9 is balanced. But...this will not happen because Larkin and Horvat are both gonna ask for 8.5 to 9.

No, you're not too keen on Wallinder. I'm very high on him too and dead against the Wings trading him. He's 20 and one of the top 10 D-men in the SHL. He only needs a few more points to put up a better season than Seider's year at Rögle.

Given that it's Detroit's LD we're talking about here, it's not unreasonable to suggest he might force his way into a top 4 role next year. Nonetheless he is, quite clearly, the main Detroit asset in the OP's trade proposal.

Lol. Boy did you ever overrate your ask for Horvat.
You got a pretty good prospect that has played a dozen games, probably a ceiling of 2C. A protected first, and a role player.

I’d take that over what this trade offered.

Beauvillier is about the same as Rasmussen. Tho I would prefer Rasmussen since he’s a Vancouver kid. Raty is now Canucks top prospect and arguably a better prospect than Wallinder. And 1st in this draft or unprotected 1st in next draft I’d take over Buium any day.

Kind of an underwhelming return but idk what you’re going on about
