Not sure how Palmieri is playing but the Avs are stacked on the wing for what his cap it is. Lil too expensive for bottom 6 wing

Islanders are stuck with Palmieri, no team is going to actively trade for him. Especially not the avs

as a 3rd party fella, I think this looks pretty solid

The people that think Palmieri is worthless, I think, are incorrect. He has been solid in the brief time since his injury. Still, probably a tad overpaid. But I dont think "nobody" would take him.

Here are my thoughts:

-Palmieri isn’t useless, but he is overpaid. I could see him going to a contender for cheap, but we’d have to retain a full 50%.
-If Mayfield wants that high of a cap hit, let him walk. He’s definitely an above average 3rd pairing guy, but paying that much for anyone on the 3rd pairing is generally a bad move. Bolduc is going to grow into that kind if mold anyways.
-Kessel is definitely an interesting signing. Not sure he fits our mold, but I can see his value as a 3rd line veteran who generates depth scoring.
-I’d actually try to extend Wahlstrom to his last RFA year. I think it’s kind of known that he won’t be a star winger, he’s firmly a middle six guy. Might as well try sign him on a team friendly deal rather than a two year “prove it” deal. 4x2.5?

Palmieri is garbage. For every 10 games he's good, he's bad for 50. I wish we never re-signed him.
