I think any offer for Meier starts with Knies and the first. The Canes and Devils can easily outbid that offer by quite a lot

And other teams will start with their A prospects outbidding you. The only chance you guys have of outbidding other teams if offering Knies and that might not be enough. Both the Canes and devils have a much stronger prospect pool than the leafs. Robertson is injured so his value is lower. Hirovinen is a meh prospect that other teams have plenty of. This offer is quite easily beaten by many other teams

Hughes is better, Holtz is on the same level. Mercer is on the same level. Jarvis is on the same level. Nikishin is on the same level. Morrow is on the same level. Look at the latest prospect rankings and you'll se plenty of names from the devils and the canes

holtz has the same ahl and nhl ppg as robertson so how is he on the same level? mercer and jarvis arent prospects, leafs prospect pool is really good with Grebyonkin, Knies, Niemela. They have very good prospects, the devils would be very dumb to give up hughes, which they arent gonna do

And I rate your opinion lower than people who scout prospects for a living.

Jarvis and Mercer aren't prospect but they can be added to the trade and they are worth way more than you are offering. Again Robertson is injured which lowers his value down because no one wants to trade for an injured prospect. Until he regains his health he will be a question mark. Again Morrow and Nikishin have both been rated at the same level as Knies. If the Canes offer up either one of them they already beat your offer

Teams aren't going to start with their best prospects, especially those with deep prospect pools, it's just Timo Meier after all. You are right that this offer probably does get beat considering NJ seems to have a real interest in adding a top 6 foward.

Although, if NJ pursues someone else then maybe the Leafs can land him but it's going to require someone better than Hirvonen especially considering Robertson's injury/injury history. They will certainly ask for Knies but may compromise, maybe the Leafs can throw in Woll/Kallgren as a sweetener.

agree replace Hirvonen with Niemela and throw in a goalie prospect and I bet SJ takes the offer seriously even though it lacks Knies.
definitely depends on what other offers Grier gets popcorn
