Simple moves

Created by: Boush
Team: 2022-23 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2023
Published: Feb. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Send out four pending UFAs that aren't going to re-sign, bring in a capable depth defenseman that steps it up in the playoffs, and grab Pool Party just in case, then sign him or trade his rights in the offseason. Leaves enough room to bring back Carlson, too.

No big swings, no major roster shakeups, no big contracts moved. Shore up the edges, get an extra pick or two, let some promising young players get permanent spots, and see how the season finishes.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody grabbed sheary for insurance, he's only making 1.5m, and I would think a mid to late pick handles it. It won't be buffalo and I can't imagine it's a second.

Why would Isles do that? Not even close, Eller's got no value and Mayfield is worth at least a 1st.
