I honestly don't think VEG has the cap space next year to take on Miller and his extension, even with Weber and Stone on LTIR

Neither was Pietrangelo. But they would be new to Vegas. I don't think Vegas wants to risk two years in a row of missing the playoffs

Weber, Stone, Lehner all on LTIR. All depends on how long Stone will be on LTIR. It could be one of those...forever kind of things. If it is....Miller cap hit, 8M, Stone's cap hit 9.5M Easily done. I don't see Vegas standing pat and risk missing the playoffs again.

Yeah, but they'll go rental before they go with another long term high cap hit. Lehner will be off LTIR next year. Stone most likely as well. They can't over extend themselves again.

Lehner is a head case. He is not coming off LTIR ever. Stone, who knows how a second back surgery will turn out. What rental is going to bring what JT does? Maybe O'reilly but he is hurt and is 2 yrs older. can you think of anyone else? Teresenko? nope Toews? nope, kane, meh!

If he wasn't signed to that extension, I'd take him as a rental over all those guys. But Canucks fans know the extension was a mistake and are now trying to move him. Not saying he's not an excellent hockey player, but the organization made the wrong move and they might just be stuck with it.
Vegas will take any one of those guys over Miller right now. Not because they're better, but because it makes long term sense.

Nobody is going to take Miller for 8 years at 8 mil AAV. Huge mistake by the Canucks there. Even worse after that they tried to lowball Horvat and wound up losing him. What a fiasco!

SEVEN years. Not eight.
Find me another point per game player over the last 3-4 years that make less than Miller. His contract is right on mark. Van needs the cap space to improve their D.
