So what you are saying is the trade is spot on then. Smith is an expiring contract. Taking him on for 1 month is not problematic at all. And 3rd and Lauko is an overpay for Schenn. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No what I'm saying, is if you expect the canucks to take smith's contract on top of the 3rd and Lauro for schenn so that the bruins can clear cap space, boston would need to change the 3rd to a 2nd at the very least

I dont think the Canucks really need any more centerman. They've got a few now and with the addition of raty, I think they're set for a bit, now defenceman yes..so change that around and maybe boston can make a deal work with canucks, but not what you've proposed here..sorry

Tho I just looked him up again and it does say centerman for the bruins.

Lauko was for taking Smith. But as he will be a regular next year it’s not worth using him to move a month of Smith.

I realize this..but why should the canucks do the bruins a favor by taking millions back to allow the bruins to add someone else if it's not worth it. To me this time of year at the deadline, especially for teams up against the cap like bruins. Having another team take on a cap dump, which smith is..nothing more, is worth more than what was proposed here.
