why in the world would toronto do this?
They down grade massively on defense from holl to schenn, trade Kerfoot (or Engvall pick one) for a guy who is scoring the same rate with better ice time and line mates in Garland and then pay a 1st and liljegren for Boeser? not even close

Holl sucks.. Schenn is an update for sure and is a physical player that the leafs need going against Boston and Tampa

None of those guys are cap dumps. Holl is RHD that plays top 4 mins and plays PK. He’s terrible with the puck cause he handles it like a grenade sometimes but defensively he’s decent. Kerfoot gets 5 mill next year. Easy. Can play all positions and all situations. Not well but the coach trusts him. Engvall is just starting to learn his body and what he can do. The dudes a beast and if he can find that consistency he’d be a top 6 winger.

With that all said if you take out Engvall, Holl and Garland and add a Canucks 2nd or 3rd I’d definitely be okay with this.

Holl plays more minute, wins those minutes and for a better team. Schenn is a replacement player. This is a terrible trade for TO

I’m sure when u guys r in the playoffs you would switch your opinion about Garland, very hard working player…
And all those players coming back I wouldn’t want Canucks to sign them after this season … no offence

You must have a Holl jersey? Schenn would be a way better option for the Leafs

say you know literally nothing about the leafs and how players have performed without saying it...

Not making at best lateral moves with larger cap hits, while giving you our high end young RHD and a 1st.

I must have been watching another Leafs team the last few years because the Holl I’ve been watching isn’t very good… and if you guys wanted to keep him because he’s your mvp? By all means I just included him because the Leafs need to move out money to be able to do anything. And you know Dubas will do something big because he’s history if you guys get bounced in the first round again!😳

it's always funny when your defence for a player is so bad that it's just a bad lazy chirp about the other teams gm. Dude, Schenn isnt a top 6 defender on any contener in the league, maybe put together that the fact that he;s playing in your top 4 and your team sucks might be related

Hot take: Liljegren is torontos best d man as of right now. This trade makes no sense for them

It just doesn't make sense how people still cling to this. Schenn was an extra in Tampa, and spend time in the minors with Anaheim, Vancouver and Tampa.

Trade kinda stinks all around.

Engvall, Holl and Kerfoot don't really hold any value for VAN, and retaining 4.3 is a **** ton. However, Canucks probably still do it because the 1st and Liljgren has shown a real impact. I also think they'd like Holl for the same reasons the Leafs management and coaches like him. Fans would hate him just like TOR fans do though.

Other side, Leafs get more scoring talent, but their defense takes a hit losing two minute eaters. Their PK also suffers losing Holl, Lilj, and Kerfoot. Can't see them doing this, because it creates huge holes just to add some secondary scoring.

Scoring always gets fans excited, but without a reasonably deep defense, and good PKers, the scoring will amount to nothing.

I actually want them to sign him but Vancouver would be stupid to not get something for him.. he’s a beauty in Vancouver… but that’s the way it goes… certain players r good in certain city’s for whatever reason

Garland playing with AHL players Sheldon Dries and Jack Studnicka. Definitely high caliber players eh?

Non taken there’s a couple guys I don’t want like Holl and Kerfoot. I like both of them but Holl is going to want too much as a RHD with top 4 minutes. Kerfoot the same thing.

Well we’ll have to see. Center, plays all situations, up and down the line up. He will get 5 easy

Garland's most common linemates have been Miller and Horvat.

I doubt he even gets a raise. Not a center, and he's... not doing well this year.
