So Lafferty and McCabe get a 1st while Meier doesn't? Sharks will get better offers.

Depends how SJS would value Minten and Sandin. Minten is having a fantastic D+1 year and could be a considered a player that should have been drafted in the 1st round in hindsight. Sandin is a former 1st round pick that has really come into his own at the NHL level, is 22, is under control for a few more years, and is ready for a larger role on a team that can give it to him. If SJS values both players as 1st round talent, that is essentially two 1st round picks and a 2nd. But, once again, and I can't stress this enough, it is really dependent on how they are valued by SJS.

CHI might accept, though. McCabe w/ 50% retention for the 1st is probably fine, some might argue CHI should be getting a little more, but I would complain. And then you have Kerfoot and a 3rd for Lafferty, which, I don't see Kerfoot as a long term piece in the least bit, but he could be worth a look and a flip next year and helps us hit the cap floor. Lafferty is definitely worth a 3rd if not more. I think there is a slight discrepancy in value, but overally I wouldn't complain too much. Adding another 1st to the stockpile would be nice for the bigger picture.

Timo will get a 1st back in this year's draft. I like Sandin but let's be realistic, he has nowhere near the impact that Timo has

Sandin will be at minimum a #3 defenceman , youre not gonna get anyone close to that level in a timo trade unfortunately

We will see. Just in keeping Timo were already getting the better player compared to a Sandin trade. Sorry to say but Leafs fans overvalue their players more than any other fanbase by far. This is a pretty easy decline still sorry to say

sandins numbers speak to a fair evaluation, he dominates his competition. The sharks have a terrible left side , including their prospect pool, makes all the sense in the world, now the pieces around sandin and meier can be debated but that as the base of a trade seems more than logical

Sharks have little need to add to LHD. Ferraro, Knyzhov, Vlasic, Simek, Harrington, Cicek all have NHL contracts. It's not an area of need at all.
