First off, not a chance Colorado entertains that.

Secondly, I just can’t see this being the year for buffalo. I can see Washington fall off, but I just can’t see them getting by both the islanders and the penguins.

Girard would be an amazing compliment for Power. This doesn't seem like the right pieces to acquire him

Not the worst offer I've seen on here for Girard BUT the problem is the Avs likely want a C back in any deal.

It's not. But Rosen plus is pretty enticing, although I have to admit that I haven't followed his development much lately.

I think Colorado would need to have some other trades lined up if they were to do this. Lyubushkin isn't a fit, and I don't think Olofsson is either. But if they get futures instead that they can used to acquire say Toews and Mikkola then maybe.

A that said, Girard is important to the Avs. Maybe something to revisit in the off season.

Girard would be an excellent fit but Lyubushkin, Rosen and Olof aren't really fits. Lyubushkin is the closest to being a fit if EJ was to retire. Rosen hasn't done enough to make a future bet on and the Avs are better off developing Olausson. I think there is a trade to be made but not quite this.
Fun post tho!
Edit: I meant Olofson and Olausson are too similar to target Olof

Idk, Rosen has a lot of potential. And having him doesn't somehow cancel out deveoping Olausson.

My biggest issue is that I don't see Girard as expendable. Moving him leaves a big hole that needs to be filled.

My error, I meant in terms of Olof and Olausson being comps

That's silly. How can you confuse Olausson and Olafsson? Lol.

Sabres can switch olfo with mitts. He is center and playing a lot better right now. He would be great 3c for you guys.

My concern with him is that a fair amount of his points have come on the pp, and he won't get that opportunity on a healthy Avs team. Money will tight for Colorado as well starting next year, and although his deal is reasonable, I have some hesitation.

Personally, I'd rather it be another pick that the team can use to help acquire a Girard replacement, but I imagine some might disagree with me on that.
