If Dubas has the biggest balls

Created by: rgwhite17

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 8, 2023
Published: Feb. 8, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Don’t jump down my throat over the trade prices. I think this is similar to what’s been reported. First for McCabe with retention? Added voit and timmins too. Not high picks for Toews.
Knies, first and second for Meier, I think it’s close, might need some more.
Possible additions anyways if they are willing to pay the prices. Cap space works.

I also know this will never happen but they should swing big.

Should still be able to move him at the draft for something no? Even if it’s just a high second round pick/late first

Dubas doesn;t.

The team's future and prospects are gutted for an RFA they can't afford, an old UFA Center and a guy CHI isnt retaining on for 3 seasons.

No reason to be giving up Timmins. He's been playing incredibly well, and I think the only reason why he's not playing now, is that he needs a contract next year. Expect him to be a regular next year, possibly even if they do acquire a Dman with term.

Ya wasn’t sure if they could pull of these moves without sending him down and losing him on waivers so just included him. But hopefully they could keep him!

So what? Tampa trades their two firsts last year, is their future doomed? Can always draft more guys that have potential, or trade players we are for more picks. Time to go for it, McCabe isn’t a rental, Meier should be able to be flipped at the draft to a team that can resign him.

We need a playoff run, think matthews is resigning this summer because we have our first round picks and knies?
I think he’s staying but a lot easier if we go on a run this year.

Hawks say no. Why?

McCabe retained is 1st + prospect (Voigt is fine although I'm iffy he can become a NHL player). Needless to say you have this covered.

Toews retained is a 2nd + Connor Timmons isn't going to garner much interest from Chicago given they have a logjam of defenders already in their prospect system. I'd venture to say Timmons is more important to the Leafs then he would be to Chicago. Same can be said of Neimela. Include Robertson + (2) 3rds or Minten.

Kerfoot is for cap purposes as he obviously has no value to Chicago.

a team could wait for you to not qualify him and pay him possible less then the 10m and not have to give up assets, only thing a trade does is allow a team to sign him to 8 years instead of 7
