Not close. Tarasenko is rental in his 30s who has had 3 shoulder surgeries, not close to a comparable trade

This isn't it. The ask is a 1st and an "A" prospect. Tarasenko is a shell of his former self, Meier has been better for two years and it's not close.

Not sure why it isn't more for Meier. He's not becoming UFA unless a team doesn't Qualify him which would be surprising to say the least. So even if "renting" him for the playoffs can trade him in the off-season if you can't afford him.

Because one his starting offer is at least 9.5 million dollars and he will probably ask for 10 million so no one has the space for him except for bad teams and nhl teams are basically the opposite of nba teams they hate trading picks and prospects and because only bad teams can get timo without giving up a large amount of their core the sharks would ask for a first round pick this year that could very easily be top 5 in this draft and that could turn out too be a player that could be better then timo and they would have to give up decent prospects just too get him too pay him 1/8th of you’re cap? That’s why not a lot of teams want to spend a lot for timo and honestly it’s the same for karlsson
