I didn't hate the Bolduc decision. He looked great. Tbh the guy who could have sat was Romanov. Have not been overly impressed with him recently
The Bolduc thing just confuses me on a few levels. First off, while I like the kid and think he will be a good NHL player, all of a sudden the team is full steam ahead with giving rookies significant roles? After jerking around Wahlstrom, Raty, Dufour, Salo, & Bellows (okay maybe that one was right), I'm just surprised that they're going all in with him. And honestly, I don't get why they wouldn't pair him with Mayfield and leave Romanov with Dobson - Romanov-Mayfield is just an awful pairing, stylistically, and feels like you're completely tanking your nominal 3rd pair for the sake of getting Bolduc with Dobson.
Again, I'm sure there's a hundred other things that go into it, and Lambert obviously has miles more coaching experience than I do, but it just feels like those kind of decisions fly in the face of conventional wisdom and, like you said, probably contributed to blowing a 2 goal lead against a pretty bad Vancouver team last night (oh, and thanks Anthony, glad to see you remembered how to score a GD goal the second you left the Island.)
