Bruins go for the Cup

Created by: Rocket_Rusty
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2023
Published: Feb. 13, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Bruins do not re-sign Timo they can re-coup most of their picks (offer sheet / trade). I would even add a third first. Bruins win the cup and they would actually improve their 2023 pick trading Timo or offer sheet.
Trades
BOS
  1. Bonino, Nick ($1,025,000 retained)
  2. Meier, Timo ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Offer sheet for Timo, 2 firsts, 1 second, 1 third. Bruins re-coup their pciks.
SJS
  1. Koppanen, Joona
  2. McLaughlin, Marc
  3. Reilly, Mike
  4. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
  5. 2024 1st round pick (BOS)
  6. 2025 1st round pick (BOS)
  7. 2025 2nd round pick (BOS)

yea sharks take that! at least one of those pick (put my money on 25 obviously) will wind up being decent (14-22 range) but the 23. & 24 picks will probably be 30-32 range.

The Bruins have 14.5 million in cap space this offseason so unless you are getting rid of pasta there's no room for meier likely around 10 million per season

Read the bio there is no intention in resigning Meier, but moving his RFA rights in the off-season or allowing a team to QO him

What if he just accepts the qualifying offer.

If you actually tried to put together the lineup (i don’t know what the heck you’ve done here), you’d see how completely unneeded Meier is. Just throwing futures at something that isn’t needed.

Then there’s the value - F-. Multiple firsts like this aren’t moved. I think if you take out two of them, it’s way closer than it is now. Expect meier to get similar to horvat.

In order to retain his RFA rights, the bruins would have to qualify him at 10M. Not a thing

Speaking of not a thing - massive offer sheets. Not a thing.

This is really bad conceptually from every single angle. Value, fit, need, future plans. Bad.
