Not willing to trade a 5th round pick for someone who would be the fourth best defenseman on your team?

He would be nothing more than a rental for Ottawa.

And Ottawa is not in the business of giving free cap space to Toronto.

Try again.

I don’t think Anaheim retains that much unless they’re getting a bit more coming back (prospect + later pick?)

Domi is terrible defensively, you put with Tavares that would be a big yikes. Imo he’s no more than a fourth liner, he’s not a top 6 player. He’s certainly not like his dad what so ever. He’s also soft. Doesn’t hit. He would go on the fourth line. He’s way overhyped/overrated.
Henrique is more of a second liner then domi

That’s the right start on a Rico trade, a minor add and we accept

When did we turn the corner from a 1st round pick to the 23 1st plus?

The offer for Domi is probably in the ballpark, but I think CHI will be able to get a package they like more than that in one form or another.

Yeah, I'm with Gibby here. Not only would I take the first, I'd give them all of the 50% retention, too. Even a pick that could be no earlier than #25 and might be as late as #32 is a good thing to have in this draft.

Very true. However I believe there are teams that could outbid this offer for the possibility of getting Henrique half retained.
