-Edmonton doesn't have the cap to make this work, you're taking back a deal to even get them to consider giving up a 1st for Eddy.

-Adding the 4th rounder doesn't make up for the value here: Minnesota's giving up a 2nd rounder for a guy with a lengthy injury history who hasn't played since early December, and a waiver-wire pickup in Pitlick. Minnesota passes.

-16 points in 44 GP does not get back a 3rd, even with the retention. Dadonov is the type of player a contender is going to pivot to only after their top 3 or 4 options are off the board - I think that's going to depress his value.

-I could see a team taking a swing on a guy like Wideman who's a perfectly fine 6th/7th D with an extra year of a low cap hit - I just don't know if Boston is the team that would give up an asset, seeing as they how have Anton Stralman and Mike Reilly stashed in the AHL as depth already.

I could live with that as the Jets. We need more scoring punch in the bottom six

On the Pitlick front, it's also important to note that he was claimed by Montreal off waivers from Minnesota. He was put on waivers because he didn't fit in our top 6 and wasn't able to play a bottom 6 role. I don't know why we'd give up a 2nd for a player (Monahan) that Guerin has had years worth of opportunities to pick up, but hasn't, and a player we gave up for nothing because he wasn't a fit here just 13 months ago.
