Despite the rumours I don’t see anyone giving sj that type of value for Karlsson even if he was significantly retained. Maybe take Bouchard out of the deal and have sj retain like 3 mil and it works

You can no longer make picks conditional based on players signing/resigning with a certain team. Just make it a first and be done with it.

the price for ask to retain salary w0uld make the trade impossible. the way I have the trade set up it makes both teams cap compliant. Pulj and Foegle are just cap dumps and Bouchard needs to make the value work

Canes take that but imagine sharks want to sub out those prospects for morrow or Nikishin. Also can’t put conditions related to signings on picks.

How does Carolina value those two I’m genuinely curious? Morrow and Nikishin have similar PNHLe to both Nemec and Luke Hughes who we’ve reportedly made unavailable and are apparently “a non starter” for trade talks.

They’re our two best prospects along with Kochetkov. Not much other top 4 upside in our d rankings - lot of high ceiling low floor types which are exciting but don’t expect them to actually make it.

Nemec and Hughes should be ranked higher imo. Nikishin is probably the better of the two but he’s risky bc he’s still signed in khl for 2 more years and who knows how that pans out. Morrow probably needs a year in ahl after his college season is over but might be able to play sheltered 3rd pair and PP minutes next season.

I’m a little worried about where morrow slots in for 2 more seasons bc our right side is pretty stable until burns contract is up. Pesce and Chat will need new deals but I assume those get worked out. Not sure if morrow will want to sign with us and wait as long as it could take (could turn into a Fox situation although variables are a bit different).

All this to say I think one of those guys could be on the table for a guy like Timo with an extension in place but not much less than that.

I appreciate the insight! I’ve put some feelers out on where selective teams heads are on this. I think each team has an A prospect they are willing to trade for Timo. However; it will not be the “elite prospect” (Nemec, Hughes, Savoie, Jarvis) that the SJ fans may believe they are going to get.

I doubt Morrow stays in College for 4 years. The speculation is that he comes out this year. I wouldn't worry too much about where he slots in the near future.

Yeah Jarvis is likely off the table unless something drastic happens. His ELC is too valuable and we know he’s a top 6 player (inconsistently right now but not much doubt long term). I’d argue he’s not really a prospect though.
