Description
Orlov gets a Brodin-type contract. Jensen super underrated, hope he stays. Barbashev needs a fresh start and he plays a big game but can skill it up too (Caps MO).

Chychrun won't happen, I know.

Kuzy has been bad, despite what his primary assists say. Go to a team with cap room that can afford a super skilled center.

Mantha for Garland I've seen everywhere. Like Garland and would be cool. Still wish Mantha had better linemates/more trust from coaches. Think he could still be solid.

I think Jarmo would take that deal. It doesn't involve a 1st, and Bemstrom is fairly solid but needs change of scenery.
I think Jarmo would probably counter by offering Foudy instead of one of the 2nds. I think Foudy needs a change to, and would thrive on a team like the Caps. SImilar to Milano (ex Jacket 1st round pick).

Maybe, but it seems they are trying to shed cap, not just for when Pettersen needs to sign, but to also make a top 4 addition to the D-core in the off-season. So perhaps if they move Myers' contract completely off the books it could happen.

Honestly, seeing how some Caps fans are seemingly desperate to give Kuzy the heave-ho, I'm actually kind of worried. I was already ambivalent about possibly adding him a year or two earlier when the possibility of him being moved first came up, and I have not found subsequent developments all that reassuring.

It'd be a lot easier if I knew why he's been so vilified. Is it just the whole hot-and-cold nature of his game?

From what I've seen from the "trade Kuzy ASAP crowd", it seems they want him to do more with the puck and they believe that the emergence of the Strome-Ovechkin connection makes moving Kuzy (since Backstrom isn't being moved) important. For what it's worth, this seems like an overreaction. While he hasn't been as good as 2018, and he has seemed to sitck-handle himself into submission more this year, I am of the opinion that this is a coaching problem and should not be solved by selling a 1C for a package that doesn't even include a 1st round pick.

I think this isn't a conversation if he has 5 or so more goals, but much like Mantha and other Capitals this year, finishing has been a struggle, and it seems to lead more people to believe he's cold more than he is. However, since he's had a couple failures to finish in important situations, he's drawn the ire of some fans.
