Then the Red Wings should resign him instead of shopping him.

Cold day in hell, Before Yzerman retains on Bertuzzi to Toronto for a 2024 2nd. Like it or not. Bertuzzi to Toronto isn't going to be as cheap as you would like it to be.

Bertuzzi season stats - GP 22: 2 G 6 A 8 P

Wings are not getting a haul for that. A 2nd round pick is good compensation for a rental middle six/top 9 forward having a down year.

Tell that to Yzerman, He's not trading Bertuzi like he's having a down year. he's trading him for what he brings to each and every team in the playoffs. Which is grit and a hardworking ethics. Any playoff team would love to add a Bertuzzi to their lineup just for the toughness alone.

The Kraken say no, they need Soucy more than Kerfoot. There's no incentive for them to make that deal.

Yea, he's a really good player when healthy. I just don't think this is like the Horvat or Tarasenko deal which involved high picks and prospects. Toughness aside, 2 goals in 22 games is just not good enough. Any team picking up Bertuzzi will be buying low. Yzerman should have traded Bertuzzi at last year's trade deadline if he wanted a haul.

This could be the basic parameter of the deal, with Dubas adding a pick or prospect to make Seattle budge.

If he is not hurt, which has been a lot lately.
His value is not as high as you think.
If he is that good what are you resigning him next year for ?
