These three moves are ones I'd love to see.

The big one is Lafferty. He'd either play RW on Panarin's line, or where I put him, on the 4th. He's a depth guy, someone to fill out the bottom 6, but those types of players are necessary. Plus he has a year of control, which is key for a team like the Rangers who really need cheap depth players with the upcoming cap crunch.

Then there's the Kravtsov trade. It's no secret that he wants out, he's basically as good as traded at this point. From what i've heard, there's talks between the Rangers and Canucks about a possible Höglander trade. I'd love to see this, because I'm a fan of both teams and both players. Both are very talented, and both could use a change of scenery, so this trade makes a lot of sense.

Finally, the Nyquist move is the icing on the cake. It's one I've advocated for a lot. Rn, it looks like it's 50/50 on whether he returns for the playoffs or not. Either way, he's gonna be out until then, meaning his cap hit won't really matter. This means we could probably pick him up for something like a 7th, with the condition that it turns into a 2024 3rd if he scores a certain amount of points or plays a certain amount of games in the playoffs. It's essentially risk free, we're paying a tiny amount to maybe have Nyquist for the playoffs. If he doesn't play, no biggie. If he does, and he sucks, just play one or two of Lafferty, Höglander, and Othmann instead. But best case scenario, we get the Nyquist who put up 18 goals and 53 points last year, on a pretty bad Columbus team. That would make us one of the deepest teams in the league, and we'd only have given up a handful of picks, a mid-tier prospect, and Krav to do so.
