2023 1st plus, so not remotely close to Carter.

We don't need his roster spot for a younger player (like Carter) he hasn't given up (like Carter) we don't want him gone (like Carter) and we don't need his cap space (like Carter).

We don't have a 1LW prospect ready to go, if we did they would be playing 2nd line right now. He's having a career year. We're not remotely close to the cap ceiling, and he is well liked/loved by the team and fan base.

Not really comparable because Henrique is three years younger than Carter was when he was traded and isn't playing on the third line as Carter was when he was traded. Henrique is Anaheim's best face-off man (Carter was below 50%) and is a first-forward-pair penalty killer (again, unlike Carter). Henrique is also scoring at a higher rate (0.6 ppg vs. 0.5 ppg). And as my esteemed friend @GiggyWithGibby has said, there's no pressure on Anaheim to move him unless we get a good return. If we're not offered a first, we'll just keep him.

Henrique is scoring at the same pace 5v5 as Horvat over the past 3 years

He can play anywhere up and down the lineup at C and LW, PK, PP, leadership, proven winner at multiple levels (OHL, Mem Cup, WJC Silver, WHC Gold), Stanley Cup final experience.

Henrique without half a season of retention is the definition of a player that gets a 1st at the deadline, now add on a year and a half retention and you can see where I'm going

Any deal for Henrique 50% retained this year needs to have a 2023 1st + or theres no real reason for ANA to do it
