MN would run with this. I think a single 2nd or (2) 3rds would also work.

It’s a big investment for a 3rd pairing but, I think having a guy with that kind of skill set and offensive capability at that spot could be a game changer. Certainly a luxury move. RHD with the offensive upside that Dumba has are few and far between in terms of availability at the deadline so, I’m not sure how ‘cheap’ he can be had. I think it would be right around there, give or take.

Yeah, you would have to think the Wild, who cannot resign Dumba, getting a pick in the top ~50ish would be good, esp for the way he has been playing. I don't think GMBG has been getting offers for him or else he would've been dealt already. And if he wasn't dealt that would be poor asset mgmt like GMSY not trading away the log jam of forwards or the expiring D currently even during the little hot streak they are on for the wildcard run.

Yeah, it kinda sucks that we’re stuck in the middle like we are right now. Not bad enough to possibly get Bedard and not good enough to compete with the elite teams.

What do you mean when you say “retain” him? I view this as a pure rental for a playoff boost.

Also, idk why everybody refers to the 3rd defense pairing like it’s some kind of abyss or something. I’ll take 15 minutes a night from Dumba over Lindstrom any day.

The wins have been nice but I can't them sustaining it enough to really make a playoff push. I'm not buying yet.

2 points out with 3 games in hand in the midst of a 5 game winning streak seems kind of in the mix there boss.

I mean sure when you say it like that it looks great and I'm hopeful too but you can't keep winning playing like we did against Edmonton and Calgary. They had terrible goaltending and everything went in for us. It's just not sustainable to get outshot 2 to 1 and collect points.

I think you’re right about the Edmonton game but I thought we handled Calgary like a team that belonged. Yeah they did get a bunch more shots & attempts on us but I thought we played well. Adding a defender that can bolster our depth and help tilt the ice sounds like just what the doctor ordered.
