Honestly would hope Ottawa says no to that. JBD is on the come up and could be a solid top 4 D in a few years but Parayko will continue to regress with that albatross contract

Bill going to fleece Doug in a Chychrun deal, Snuggerud and all his 2023 1sts.

I wonder if there really is any true interest in Chychrun from the Blues or if the brothers are conspiring against Blake.

I said it before, I can talk myself into Meier for the Blues because if it takes you another year to get the roster ducks in a row that's fine because any deal with Meier is going to be an 8 year extension after this year no matter what, and if he'll do the extension then you have some time to play with ala New Jersey with Hamilton.

The whole reason Chychrun is expensive to acquire is because of his contract. It's a rare opportunity to get a 6-7mil defenseman for 2/3 of that cost for this postseason and two more. That's helpful if you're a cap strapped contender looking to get one significant piece to put you over the top. The Blues are more than one significant piece (two if you count a potential Meier trade) to get over the top, they would have to do more while burning the cheap Chychrun years they payed a premium for. I don't get the Chychrun thing at all, makes way more sense for LA or Boston or Edmonton than the Blues.

Yeah, the Meier one makes a ton of sense. The Chychrun one sounds like it's all smoke, especially since they haven't even moved anyone from their blueline yet.

The first and last trades are BRUTAL for the Blues. And Arizona presumably passes.

Chychrun makes sense if they can dump Leddy and/or Krug (which they can't) because they need good young defensemen on the team. If they don't infuse good young talent than they're Chicago in a year or two.
