None of those trades are good for Detroit.
No incentive to trade Vrana save retain for a third. Rather see him try to return to form. Don't know what's up with him though.
A first I'm 2024 isn't a great return for bertuzzi, that player drafted is like 4 years from making an impact on this team.
Waaaay too much to give up for Meier. Half that package should be the max for us to send them.

DET receives
Meier (Elite Top 3 Winger)
SJS receives
Berggren (Fantastic Top 6 Winger - following Zetterberg's trajectory)
Kubalik (Fair bottom 6 Winger - PP2 Specialist)
Mazur (Projected Middle 6 Winger - Good Potential)
Wallinder (Projected Top 4 Defensemen - Great Potential and has looked fantastic as Rogle's #1)
1st (The latest pick Yzerman has ever traded was a 23rd and it was to move up to 15th)

Red Wings pass.

Now that’s a Meier trade I can get behind. You could take out Kubalik and mazur and it would still do it for sure

It might be best to just cut ties with Vrana and bet on Puljujarvi's upside. That being said Detroit might not be the best fit for him.

Getting a player that makes an impact in 4 years from now would be a good thing, since right now they are getting Meier and they have all the young guys on the roster now and who will make it next year to pay. Deep prospect pool, 100% worth getting an impact player like Meier. Detroit is in the Atlantic division, it's not going to get easier any time soon. It all should be dependent on how much Meier extends for though anything more than 8.5m should be passed on.

Just need to adjust the Meier trade a little as well. For starters trading Kubalik might not make a lot of sense. Might as well keep him and find Vrana a different home.

I don't think anything here is crazy, if they just want vrana gone Edmonton might take a chance and a pick and poolparty is fine. I'd rather do Bert for a high prospect we could see sooner than later than a late 1st but it's acceptable. Now if we aren't going to part with Edvinsson or Kasper then a big package like that is what it's going to take. Hate seeing Bergy go but Meier replaces him in the line up so it's an upgrade not a loss. It's probably one piece too maybe take kuby or Mazur out I'd say. I'm all for being aggressive.

Seeing Wings fans say the Meier cost is too much and others saying its a slight overpay tells me I could probably pull Mazur (or Wallinder) out and it'd be fair.
I'd love to get a player for Bert. Holtz from NJ? I don't think we get a Stankoven level player for him. Honestly I'd love to just keep him too if he signs for around 5mil ish.
We aren't gonna get much for Vrana. I'm pretty confident it'll be a player back with retained salary once he's dealt. Friedge reporting he's being showcased. https://twitter.com/RyanHanaWWP/status/1628819923307839489?s=20

I think guys like holtz or Stankoven are just too high in the prospect ranks to get. I like Maverick Bourque in Dallas a lot or maybe a guy like Seamus Casey out of NJ.

Not by much, take out mazur and Kubalik and it’s still fair. Get a top line 26 yo who will score 40 goals this year and keep you top forward and defensive prospect. Build around Meier, Larkin, Raymond, Kasper, Seider, Edvinsson, Hronek. That’s a pretty good team for a long time
