Description

The value in the NYI trade isn't enough, I just wanted a starting point for discussion. Which of the 3 top prospects would Jets fans want added? Isles fans, who would you want? Personally I wouldn't want to move Lambert if we can keep him. What else would we have to add? Pulock has a NTC and Nelson has a 16-team NTC, which complicates things by a lot. But if the NTCs end up being waived, these players are exactly what we need. A 2nd line scoring forward in Nelson (I also considered Horvat instead, but we just can't afford him AND Pulock), and Pulock who is a very solid 1RHD, which we've been missing since Buff was here.

What else do we add? Would Appleton or Dillon have "negative value" because of their contracts, or would NYI want them? If Stanley or Gustafsson move the needle, should we add them?

Neither are likely to waive but since it's all hypothetical anyway I'd give them Perfetti if they wanted him.

i'd probably split them up and trade them separately if i was dealing them because anyone would balk at the combined price but if you're getting mcgroarty + heinola + 1st that's the equivalent of 3 first rounders, how much more are we really expecting to get? maybe i'd want another first rounder but a 1st + top prospect is about what you'd want for each of them and there's two top prospects and a first in there. i'd take perfetti if they were willing to move him but otherwise who knows

Even if they're out of a playoff spot, you don't think Lou would sell at the deadline?

ik nelson should be gone after this year, makes all the sense in the world to sell high on him considering they need a retool to be actual contenders but they won't do it

i think he might sell but i doubt you see major moves like this. they would maybe move mayfield/varlamov

He might but he'll ask for a lot. Those players aren't ones he'd move regardless. Only UFAs like Mayfield and Varlamov.

ive never seen a team more uncomfortable with the puck on their stick. Isles need more than a re-tool. It sucks for the older isles fans because this team might not make the playoffs for another 7 or 8 years

High on both, they both are local guys (yes I know Nelson is American but he's from Warroad and there's a big hockey history between Warroad and Winnipeg/Manitoba) and both would fill big holes in the Jets lineup for a long time.
