LMAO, so your gut feelings interpreting how someone visibly looks trumps actual objective facts in the reality of the situation? Come on

You should get a subscription to The Athletic if you don't already have one. They are the most reliable source of information in a lot of people's opinions versus a bunch of the blowhard amateur journalists and podcasters trying to stir the pot to get views

There are lots of conflicting reports including podcasts from the Athletic. Here is an excerpt from a professional beat writer with credentials to get in the locker room. No reason I picked this one except I just read it. https://www.lohud.com/story/sports/nhl/rangers/2023/02/24/rangers-cant-block-out-noise-with-patrick-kane-trade-wheels-in-motion/69940199007/

And what will Chicago's compensation be? That remains up in the air, but there are reasons to believe it's a lower asking price than it was just a few weeks ago.

How we got here
One person with knowledge of the situation told lohud.com, part of the USA TODAY Network, that Kane has wielded the power of his no-movement clause to insist on New York as his deadline destination. That's changed everything for the Rangers in a matter of days.

Initially, they budgeted to acquire one star right winger. Drury narrowed in on Kane and St. Louis' Vladimir Tarasenko as his two primary targets before deciding that the latter was the preferred choice for a variety of reasons on Feb. 9.

At that point, the Rangers were prepared to move on. They allowed other opportunities to accrue cap space to pass by without much urgency because they were comfortable with where they stood. But this week, it became abundantly clear that Kane was thinking Broadway or bust.

Drury was faced with a decision: If Kane is trying to force his way here and leaves the Blackhawks with little option but to lower their demands, is it worth recalibrating his plans?

Ultimately, it seems, the prospect of adding the future Hall of Famer at a discounted rate was too good to pass up.

There are still several hurdles to clear before they can make that deal happen, but the expectation is that it will no longer require the Rangers to part with their remaining 2023 first-round pick, any core members of the active roster or top prospect Brennan Othmann.

The debate the other guy and I are having is the fact that as of the comments coming from Brison (Kane's agent), Kane himself, and the Hawks GM as of yesterday....they all have confirmed a waiver list has not been submitted to Hawks.

Now, seeing the reports this morning, it sure points to that Kane (or his agent) have told Davidson to work a deal with the Rangers, but the other guy is saying Kane waived for the Rangers a week or two ago which factually is not true and confirmed by numerous interviews with Kane, Brison and Davidson that hasn't happened yet at least up until yesterday.

People (both fans and blowhard journalists) took the below interview with Kane and made a giant leap assuming Kane already submitted the Rangers (later also the Leafs) to the Hawks when all 3 parties clearly said this week that hasn't happened.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heHSQXdPK7w

Even the attached article is still speculation. There some evidence of what is going on, but "One person with knowledge of the situation told lohud.com, part of the USA TODAY Network" does not substantiate fact. We can only go on what Kane, Davidson and Bison have said until fact presents itself; otherwise it's just speculation.

For Kane's sake, on a personal note, I hope he gets to go to The Rangers as it's a fun team to watch, but let's also be honest....the Hawks aren't going to just accept a 5th rounder for him either. There is a line in the sand where keeping Kane to continue to put warm bodies in the seats at the United center is more important then a just accepting any old return...who knows what that return is if this happens but promise it's not a 4th or 5th rounder.

Not trying to quibble, but the "waiver list" comment screams double speak. Lots of the time a waiver list is never submitted, the team will ask about a specific team or is told a specific team which technically is not a list. Similar comments were made about Giroux last year in that he never submitted a list, but everyone knew the reality of the situation. Definitely not just a 4th or 5th rounder for sure.

Says the guy speculating....reread the quotes....all of them, start there and stop the conspiracy theorist nonsense. Show me where Kane said "I wanted (or want) to get traded to the rangers and asked to be"...this is all made up in your head

Here you go...let me make it easy for you...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heHSQXdPK7w

All Kane says it was a team I was looking at it. Later, he confirmed he still hasn't met with his agent and Davidson to provide a waiver list. So no, Kane did not tell davidson The Rangers and Davidson screwed up at least not up until the last 24 hours or so.

Dream world. But hey, keep Kane....PLEASE.

Well up until Tuesday, Davidson hadn't even met with Kane and his Agent to sit down and discuss. Kane just hasn't committed to wanting to go are all the reports from the insiders in Chicago, well unless that's changed in the last 2 days.

I don't know where you are hearing this, but provide a link. Everything coming out of Chicago and with reliable sources such as The Athletic and the GM himself have all said, Kane has yet to submit a list of teams. He only expressed disappointment about the Tarasenko move saying "it's one of the teams I've been considering", but there are repeated reports he still has yet to submit his waiver list. If you have a link from a reputable source that says he did, I'd be interested to read it.

That said, let's pretend he did submit one team and that's the NYR, and the return is a 3rd round pick, the GM would be stupid to take it; that is the kind of stuff that gets GM's fired for ignoring revenue, ignoring the culture impact to the team, and putting himself in a position of weakness with other GMs, Agents and players moving forward.

According to Scott Powers of the Athletic, Kane only wants to play for the New York Rangers. Guess this report from within the last hour isn't reliable? Hahahahaha

If it was prime Kane you’d be offering like 5 firsts and and at least 2 A level prospects
