Drafting is Chevy's biggest strength. Lowry in round 3 2011, Helle round 5 2012, Copp round 4 2013, Appleton round 6 2015, Samberg round 2, Kovacevic round 3 2017, Chibrikov round 2, Rashevsky round 5 2021, Salomonsson round 2, Zhilkin round 3, Wagner 6 2022. Feel like we've got a lot to show for later rounds than most teams. Round 1 also is 100% a strength with picks like Scheifele, Trouba, Morrissey, Ehlers, Connor, Laine, and some more recent ones
Lowry- 4th liner
Helle- Great but lots of good goalies are found in later rounds
Copp- Yeah good pick /3rd liner
Appleton- 3rd liner
Samberg- 3rd pair dman
Kovacevic- Lost on waivers/ 3rd pair dman
The rest of those prospects are complete unknowns at this point.
They haven't picked a top 6 forward or top 4 dman outside of the 1st round.
Is it okay that since the Laine/Dubois pick the Jets don't have a single draft pick other then the injured 10th overall Perfetti that's contributing anything more then what we could get from a waiver wire pickup?
Chevys drafting is overrated.
