Really not something the Jets should do, theyre skidding into the ditch, need to sell and not buy.

Tough take for a team and players that have been leading the division most of the season. It would certainly lead to more Scheifele drama and ruffle a lot of feathers.

We're second in the division. Our fans are overreacting and I'm tired of it. I don't care that we've lost a couple games in a row, in convincing fashion. We have a very good shot at making the playoffs. Do you really think Colorado, Minnesota and Calgary all get past us? Colorado I can see. Minny and Calgary? I don't think so, as long as we don't sell. We need to make moves for sure, not to sell off, and certainly not for a grinder type forward. We need a middle 6 scoring forward or two, and a top 4 D.

Maybe Bergeron and Krejci are having the time of the their life and want to come back for round 2 (more like 20). Would be especially hard to resist if Bos didn't win the cup. Now they have the cap for it and more.

If this is post- "CUP" OK all chips are in to that after/if it happens - but not more moves ^ ^ for this current season/pre-playoff!

Ya no. Not downgrading for a playoff run and giving up a 1st. Jesus. 🙄

For sure. No need to dump cap now but could certainly get ahead of the game. I was shocked by the Zaitsev timing but it suggests these things can happen earlier than expected.

Forbort while in the 5-7 D-hole will still see IMPT playoff minutes even w/ Orlov in the fold (DF = PK monster).
Rielly is an NHLer that happens to be on the 'wrong-side' of BOS depth. However, with injuries (yeah they happen) he's an impt depth piece for playoffs-2023.

Good gawd, they're not a good team and Helle can't bail them out every game.

Minnesota is only one point behind and yes they'll probably make the playoffs but they're still not worth investing in.

They just no showed against the Avs, they're just not a very good team and it looks like their coach has lost them already.

Idk how anyone can look at the Jets lineup and think they're only a piece or two away.

Legit top 6 forwards- Scheifele, Connor, Ehlers, Dubois
3rd liner- Wheeler
4th liner- Lowry
*Injured- Perfetti (middle six winger)

Top 4 dman- Morrissey
Are the rest really any better then 3rd pair dmen?

Helle (Having a Vezina season but I don't think he can save this tire fire)

I'd say they're pretty far from a complete team.

So trade for the missing pieces. Trade for a top 4 dman, and 2 middle six scorers. Trade this year's 1st, Heinola, and one of Lucius or McGroarty to make it happen. If we don't push now, we'll be a WC team forever. Guys like McGroarty, Lucius, Lambert will just drag us into playoffs, then we'll lose round 1, and get pick 16-20. Push now, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. THEN you can rebuild all you want, if PLD, Scheif, Helle, all these guys want out, fine rebuild. But right now we have absolutely no reason to. We're 2nd in the central. You don't see Dallas overreacting, and they're on a 5 game losing streak. Teams get cold sometimes, even Boston was for a little bit. Also Lowry is not a 4th liner, he's a solid 3C.

You win up the middle = Scheif/Dub - Morr - Helle = done and done.

Can pull an ATL-trade 2.0; meaning BOS trades Wheeler-Stuart for Richy P...

Time for Chevy to p*ss or get off the pot - the window is NOW.

Isn’t great? Is there a great time for a team to be like, “hey can you take this first round pick so we can get worse?”

Would've loved it. Too bad Chevy doesn't do squat. My bet is we pick up a depth RD (Schenn, Jensen) and a depth forward. No major moves, when we really need a bigger move to push this team over the edge

Sure, can go all in but its gonna take a lot to accomplish that, make a trade just for Chycrun to shore up the defense and see whats left for assets.

Will be 4th in the Central soon enough, still think they should push all their chips in then, I doubt it.

Solid 3Cs break 30 points and don't go 30+ games without a goal, easily the most overrated player of Jets 2.0 is Lowry, the guy is and always has been a 4th liner.

Orlov had trade protection so likely blocks a deal to Winnipeg.

Would take more then a Rich Peverley trade to fix this team.

Chevys failure has been not trading for guys with term, plenty of good players that don't have trade protection but he's very inactive.

Also his drafting outside of round 1 has been pretty meh.

Drafting is Chevy's biggest strength. Lowry in round 3 2011, Helle round 5 2012, Copp round 4 2013, Appleton round 6 2015, Samberg round 2, Kovacevic round 3 2017, Chibrikov round 2, Rashevsky round 5 2021, Salomonsson round 2, Zhilkin round 3, Wagner 6 2022. Feel like we've got a lot to show for later rounds than most teams. Round 1 also is 100% a strength with picks like Scheifele, Trouba, Morrissey, Ehlers, Connor, Laine, and some more recent ones

Lowry- 4th liner
Helle- Great but lots of good goalies are found in later rounds
Copp- Yeah good pick /3rd liner
Appleton- 3rd liner
Samberg- 3rd pair dman
Kovacevic- Lost on waivers/ 3rd pair dman

The rest of those prospects are complete unknowns at this point.

They haven't picked a top 6 forward or top 4 dman outside of the 1st round.

Is it okay that since the Laine/Dubois pick the Jets don't have a single draft pick other then the injured 10th overall Perfetti that's contributing anything more then what we could get from a waiver wire pickup?

Chevys drafting is overrated.
