  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
CGY
  1. Boeser, Brock
Additional Details:
Really send Calgary any of the Boeser or Garland with a Schenn type deal minus plus whatever to make fair trade..
key would be getting their 1st and taking on Lucic’s contract for the rest of the year helping Calgary cap wise… and pick being 15-23ish over all

Boesers cap hit makes too many problems next year to pay 1st for. We'd end up having to lose 2 or 3 more trades shipping out contracts next year.

I'd rather the Canucks retain 50% on Boeser and get more for him. They shouldn't be looking to compete next season, maybe the year after, so adding an extra 3.3M on to the cap isn't a big deal.

Last year, Toffoli (0.70 P/GP) earned Montreal a 1st, Heineman, a 5th, and Pitlick with a 4.25M cap hit for 2.5 seasons. This year, Boeser has a better P/PG (0.75 P/GP) than Toffoli did last season. That's not to mention that over their careers, Boeser has a much higher offensive yield than Toffoli. Yes, Toffoli is better defensively, but I think Boeser's superior production and a 1M cap differential more than makes up that difference. Trading him at 3.3M could fetch the Canucks a better haul.

Yeah I just want them to at least get another 1st this year… and actually sell off some assets like other teams have done for years.. the Canucks have never actually done that ever

I mean most of that is true but if you need to tell his agent to go looking for trades then you probably aren't being drowned in great offers to begin with.

Very true statement on Calgary's cap situation next year, however I disagree on the Boeser comment. Depending on which team is offering the 1st (ie. much later in the round), and the amount of retention Vancouver is willing to accept, he could fetch a 1st.
