He scored 2 goals in game 7 of round 1 last year. So hush.

The Leafs need defensemen. Ideally, Chychrun but others do work

Why so hard on Domi lol. The guy has 47 points in 56 games, plays with grit, can play C or wing (would give us depth at both positions), and would be a nice addition to the 2nd PP unit. Don't see what's not to like about the guy.

Chycrun will cost 1st + Knies minimum. Can't see Dubas making that trade.

Chychrun should cost 1rst+Niemela but 1rst + Knies works too. Look, Knies will be great in 3 years. It's just that we need to win now

Domi is short, soft, easy to knock off the puck and is effective now bc he is playing PP1 and line 1. That doesn't equal a first

Or he could be great this year. The ask for Chycrun is 1st + 1st + A level prospect. I don't see the Leafs winning that bidding war. Their left side is set anyways. Gio, Sandin, Rielly is good, and Brodie can move over if needed. I just don't want to see Holl in the lineup come playoffs.

On Chicago... Plus he'd be playing with Tavares and Nylander/Marner. Those would be the best linemates he has had all season, no offence to Kane.

Ritchie has never hit 70 points in his career.

Domi is having his second best NHL season to date.

Let me put it this way, who would you rather have there, Kerfoot or Domi?

Domi isn't actually scoring more, he's just playing more. He's getting 1st line time and is on for 66% of all PP minutes. Meanwhile he's actually scoring the lowest points/60 of his career this season. That's what he actually is and any team that trades for him is going to get a shadow of what he is in Chicago because the same opportunities aren't available.

No to both deals.

We need to retain our picks/prospects unless it really moves the needle and why would we retain salary on any deal? We need the cap space remember?

Max domi is scoring at the exact same rate as Pierre Engvall in significantly more minutes with much better offensive players while getting top line mins and 1st power play time. He has 5 more goals in about 300 more minutes of ice time. All while being horrible terrible and abysmal defensively while getting almost 70% of his starts in the offensive zone (engvall starts close to that in the defensive zone).
Domi also wouldnt get half of that ice time or opportunity in toronto so his scoring would drop drastically from that a lone.
Kerfoot may not score as much as domi, but he is also much more versatile and is actually effective in the bottom 6 because he can and does play well defensively against top lines.
Domi is empty calories in the regular season and is a worse playoff player than kerfoot, so yeah, i'd rather have kerfoot

As much as Leafs fans don' want to admit it (some like myself do) we've been way too hard on Holl and he's earned his spot on this team. Would I replace him with Chychrun (whose price dropped), yes. If I were to guess, from TO, it would be Sandin, Niemela and the 2024 1rst for Chychrun which I would do in a heartbeat

I'd rather take the guy who can actually do something in the playoffs beyond taking penalties that cost us a game and take up more cap space then he deserves.

I prefer the eye test and actual stat line. You could put so many other players into the opportunities he is getting and they would have a hard time hitting 40 points in an entire season let alone before the trade deadline. Also this is Chicago we are talking about here. He is the second highest point scorer behind Kane, and no I refuse to believe that is solely because he plays with Kane since Kane up until a week ago was having the worst season of his career.

Don't need him to play defence. Why do you think they go O'Rielly and Acciari? Their offensive production was not the reason, it was their two-way play that was attractive. You aren't getting Domi to play on the PK. Your getting him to have C depth, another option in the Top 6, and to improve PP 2.
