Not so bottom 6

Created by: Toddyd77

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 25, 2023
Published: Feb. 25, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let's face it St Louis did us a huge favor but we are a long way from a cup team. We are stuck with Carter so have to improve wings.
Ottawa needs a goalie after losing forsberg. Getting a cheap veteran also let's them trade Talbot if they can.
Detroit has been looking to dump vrana. And this is cheaper than buying him out. He's perfect risk for pens to take to improve forward depth and get a lil younger. Dumo gives them vet depth with playoff experience. We also take nedeljkovic who could use a change of scenery being banished in the minors and better upside than desmith
Pay Chicago to take mcginn. Ottawa paid a 2nd and 4th to dump zaitsev and he makes 2 mil more Mcginn so feel the price is about right.
Getting barbashev would be nice and should be resigned. Might need to add a mid lvl prospect or improve the 6thpick to 4th.

I thought about puljujarvi from Edmonton as well. Rfa and could do well here.

If we are making 2 bottom 6 additions, I would like at least one of them to be a C.
I think you need at least a 2nd to move McGinn.
Dont really see the need to swap DeSmith for Nedeljkovic.. not much of an upgrade.

Detroit passes, We're not retaining on Vrana. The deal will be a bad contract for a bad contract type scenario.

Either retain or are gonna buy him out. Retaining is cheaper and the wings would be trading 2 bad contracts they buried in the minors all season for draft picks and veteran d. Not sure how they pass when likely they'll end up getting nothing

You are probably right which is why I said you could add a mid-level prospect and increase the pick level but I don't see how they're getting a first for him.

Neither player has been in the minors "all season". Vrana was in the player assistance program and Ned was the backup most of the year but he struggled. We're not trading with or helping a team that we're competing against for a playoff spot. That's just stupid. And even if we did this offer is a joke.

You aren't serious right. The redwings have done everything to show vrana his days as a wing are numbered. He could have been in the NHL for a while but the keep him down the ahl aside from a couple games. You must not really follow the team. He has been mentioned as a buy out candidate.
Nedeljkovic has played 9 NHL games this year. 9. He's been buried since December but basicallyost his back up job once they claimed hellberg.
But please go on about why the wings want to keep taking a cap hit on a goalie they don't want on an expiring contract and a player yzerman doesn't want on the team when they can get something for them. I guarantee no one else is offering better

Wow, you really don't know what you're talking about and that's sad. None of what you said is even remotely true and you need to check your "sources". Fact: Yzerman doesn't allow leaks so anything you've heard is likely bs. Fact: Vrana was in the assistance program for months. Fact: Vrana did not skate or workout during that entire time. Fact: the Wings realized after they sent him for conditioning that he would need more than a few games to get into game shape. Fact: uninformed morons who didn't know any better began to speculate things and then report them as facts. Fact: people like you repeat those things all over the internet because you can't be bothered to differentiate between a real source and a rumor mongering. Fact: your offer is insulting and you can go ahead and keep it.

    Fact every organization has leaks.
Vrana's future indoubt with the club was reported not just by local Detroit sportswriters and blogs but nationally by Lyle Richardson with the hockey news, Dave Pagnotta and Frank seravelli. But yes these are unreliable ppl.....

The rumor came from Pagnotta who is a well known bullsh*tter. The others, who aren't much better, just picked up his rumor. Like I said, you don't seem to understand the difference between a real, reliable source and a guy who makes a living speculating about trades (like Pagnotta, Richardson and Severelli).
The local beat reporters did not report anything but facts or their opinions. You're wrong; deal with it.

Darren dreger just reported on insider trading on TSN wings looking to trade vrana. Only person who believes they aren't looking to trade vrana is you. So crawl out from the rock your under and get a clue.

Wow you are sad. I could care less if they trade him. I care that you are spouting a bunch of uninformed bs about what the Wings are doing. I care that youre citing people like Pagnotta and Severelli as reliable sources. I read the same articles you do im just not stupid enough to believe they know whats going on inside the organization with regards to Vrana or any thing else for that matter. Just stop yourself it's embarrassing.

Hmmmm he got traded for a 7th and an ahl player and also retaining 50%. So proof you know absolutely nothing and should probably look in the mirror before calling someone else stupid or embarrassing.

Nah, based on you're responses I was spot on. What's it like having me in your head, rent free, for a week?
