Won’t be surprised to hear Dallas now that Kane looks to be a ranger without a for sure deal.

If I’m San Jose I’d be all over Dallas trying to make a deal

This might be controversial but I’d take Stankoven over Holtz and Morrow

New Jersey could beat stankoven with Nemec or Hughes but they said they are off the table

I'm not as high on Holtz as I was a year ago. A few things about him are red flags. He's a good player and maybe Eklund helps him but Stankoven, Morrow etc are pieces I would prefer

Logan Stankoven is untouchable, and Dallas would not have the cap space to re-sign Meier. Would rather see him in a Canes uniform.

I’m a Stars fan. I can’t imagine trading away Stankoven at this point. I could talk about Bourque, Harley, and/or Bischel, maybe add in Marchment, Faksa, and/or Gurianov for cap.

We couldn’t afford Meier without bringing in Stankoven next year.

Where I think Dallas sits is with a $6 mil forward spot opening. Money would have to move to SJ to make this work.

Exactly why Dallas isn’t trading him for a pure rental. Stars aren’t giving away a dynamic prospect like Stankoven for a guy that won’t be on the roster in 3 months. Not to mention adding Bichsel, a top-30 pick, and a top-60 pick to the trade.

I like Meier, but if San Jose comes asking for this package, Jim Nill hangs up the phone before they finish the proposal
