It looks like a win win but I'm surprised sj didn't opt for a guy like Casey instead of 2 young forwards.

I would be surprised to, but with Zetterland being held out of tonight's game, and the rumors out SJ's interest in him, it seems unlikely that one of Muk or Casey would be in this trade.

Maybe without getting mercer they wanted a piece they could play right now,

Z was probably not held out for a trade. He has sat multiple times this season because Lindy makes strange lineup choices.

Per Novo ruff said "We needed to get Bastian back in the lineup". Not sure I believe it but just putting that out there

That would actually make sense.

So everybody pretend Zetterland isn’t in the trade and instead it’s Casey or Muk!

I think in a few years you're going to turn out a lot happier with the return than you think you will. Holtz is damn good

It’s all secretly a plot by the Swedish and Swiss National teams to promote more chemistry between their players!

I doubt it. There is a pretty solid chance Holtz is a complete bust and that risk is pretty scary here.

NJ is going to be a lot more happy when they win the cup and gave up nothing they need in the next 5 years.

There is a pretty solid chance every prospect is a bust, even first overall picks. Holtz is no more likely to be a bust than Eklund, but the upside is tremendous.

To be fair with the devils prospect pool, nothing they need in the next few years is still some pretty damn good prospects.

Casey/Bahl both probably crack most teams, Shakir/Casey would be the top D prospect on a number of teams, but in NJ they're not needed bc of Hamilton Siegs Marino locked up long term, and then Hughes and Nemec (plus currently Severson and Graves who are top 4 quality dmen as well)

Yes but a year like this brings a higher chance of busting. He has been passed by 80% of the draft he was in including his own teammate whos doing amazing on NJ while hes had an awful year.

I sure hope so, but I just dont see it. I think he likely ends up a decent third line glass cannon scorer, 20 goals a year mostly on the powerplay type guy.

"Pretty solid chance Holtz is a complete bust" is a bold statement

He still has an amazing shot, while his skating skills haven't developed yet

I think he will develop better in San Jose with more ice time and opportunities

Hes had a horrible year and basically not developed. He was already risky as a bad skating guy who relies on a good shot, so I dont think its a strech to say he has a higher bust potential than similar prospects.
