They could’ve but didn’t want to, they are worried too much about the future when their time is now, and that’s why the canes will likely lose in the 2nd round again and will long be considered kings of the regular season.

Think they are about to trade a really good young player contributing on their roster, and likely one the Devils fans aren’t going to like trading.

I could not disagree with you more, I think if that were the case the deal would be done already. Also, it’s not really dumb to trade a young piece when the piece you’re acquiring is also young/fits the teams contending deadline
