Here's the deal with Domi: on the Avs, he wouldn't get nearly as much PP time as he does with Chicago so he'd be playing mostly at even strength with the Avs. His even strength production is decent but not great and his metrics are decent, not great. He is, essentially, JTC, a player the Avs already have. So, he doesn't fill a hole on the Avs so much as he would be depth which is great to have but the Avs absolutely would not and should not accept the condition mentioned for a depth player that would most likely be a rental; that would be very poor asset management by the Avs.
One other thing: Domi has been known throughout his career to be lazy at times. That would not fly with Bednar or a team with SC aspirations. So, ultimately, I don't know that this is a fit for the Avs in that sense or for what Chicago will ask for him but you never know.
