Was hoping he’d help the rebuild, not prolong it.

Now we have to wait for Grier to get fired in two summers.

The real mistake was resigning Hertl, don't think that was Grier. Time and potential EK65 trade will show if Grier needs to be fired.

Sharks got a rental return. They would've received much more if Meier came with a contract extension. He didn't. I don't understand the angst by Sharks fans. There's no guarantee Meier is re-signing with NJ. Devils are taking a calculated risk.

This return doesn’t help much, if at all. Two of those players will be gone in a season.

Mukhamadullin and two 2nds then, if you want to ignore the rest. That's a little less than DeBrincat or similar. There's potential to get multiple impact players out of one, that's not a bad deal.

He did but I guess it depends where you have Mukhamadullin as a prospect, the Sharks obviously are high on him.

It's definitely a good trade for NJ, but that's because they have a deep prospect pool in the first place, so he was expendable.
