Description
Lock up Pasta to LTC. Trade futures for Brodin, a first plus mid level D and Fwd prospects should get it done. Sweeten Vegas with a 3rd to take Beleskey. Trade McQuaid to Oilers for mid level pick as Chiarelli appreciates his toughness. Flip Spooner to Canucks for underachieving Virtanen, who adds organizational depth at RW, plus a fourth. Benning likes Spooners work on PP and scoring potential. Should fit well with the Euro's. Lastly waive Hayes. Transition Kuraly who acquitted himself well in the playoffs as wells Heinen, who ripped up the Calder playoffs. Limit UFA signings to C Boyle on one year deal as JFK may need a half year to get up to speed. This leaves money for playoff addition if youngsters turtle.

I don't see Minn saying no. They are rumored to want to move Brodin for a # 1 pick so they don't potentially lose him in the Draft and because they don't have one.

I like the ideas tho, personally I hope we sign pasta to a 4 yr $4.5 mil to keep some cap space available. But thats me!!

Who are those prospects in the Minny deal? I've never heard of either player. Guessing they are a either a LW, or LD prospects that the Wild have 0 need for, and better options already in their system.

MN might want a 1st for Brodin, but it would have to be a higher pick than 18oa in a weak draft. Lose Brodin for stuff and lose Scandella/Zucker for nothing. Lose Brodin for nothing and keep Scandella/Zucker.

O'Gara is a big defensive prospect, came out of Yale I believe. Jesse Gabrielle is a very good LW prospect. 19 y.o. and put up over a ppg this year for Prince George. I personally wouldn't include Gabrielle but that's just me

Ya not a huge fan of having Jesse in the deal. I see a lot of Marchand in his game (who ironically enough he models his game after). I'd rather throw in a more NHL ready guy like Vatrano

If you don't know who they are than you have no business offering your opinion on them.

OGara has no trade value which is why I said Minny would pass. I'd be pissed if they dealt Gabrielle tho.

      Just give up on Brodin.

Don't waste draft picks to get Vegas to take a certain player, there are 3 D's and 23 forwards that they can pick from (plus Subban/Khudobin) and they are all around the same value, won't be that missed.....

      Whats wrong with everybody???

Disagree on O'Gara. He has some value due to his size and ability to player either side of the defense. He could net a mid-late round pick at this point.

Was my statement incorrect? I guessed a LD and LW, and there they are a LW and LD. Both are positions of depth in the NHL and AHL for the Wild. I'm confidant enough in the Wild's LD and wing prospects to say that they are equal or better than almost every prospect offered.

Both can play on their off-side
